Q1 for @ToddStabelfeldt : What is the one #smarthome tech that you have that you can’t do without. #smarthomechat
— Darwin Sayo (@liquidmachine) November 28, 2017
*******
A1 – @ToddStabelfeldt “All of them… if I had to pick one that would be locking the doors.” #smarthomechat

Smart Tech appears to be great at bringing down barriers between people and providing a more inclusive environment for all #smarthomechat

A2 – @ToddStabelfeldt “A great channel that enables access…another ear that is listening and able to lend a “hand”, look up information quickly, take a note or phone a friend.” #smarthomechat #disabilities

A2 – I can really see how the voice assistants can benefit homes with #disabilities. To be able to lock doors, turn off lights, change the TV channel, change the heating etc is so helpful towards independence (I'm able bodied and that's what I use them for!) #smarthomechat

A3 – @ToddStabelfeldt "No direct way to open a front door, just now seeing garage doors coming on line. Ability to stack commands…when every breath is valuable giving stacked commands would be a great assist. Such as unlock and lock the door." #smarthomechat
— Darwin Sayo (@liquidmachine) November 28, 2017

A3 – as @liquidmachine just said, we take that for granted. Never really thought about it like that. Some of the newer smart locks you can unlock the door for the person on the otherside to open along with video doorbells, it just doesn't help individuals. #smarthomechat

A4 @ToddStabelfeldt "Looking forward to seeing the virtual assistant develop. Alert me to situations or appointments that are coming up and offer helpful tips to prepare. And as mentioned… tech that will allow me to easily open a door." #smarthomechat

A4 – I'm looking forward to seeing the development of devices like the @amazonecho show for people with hearing #disabilities there is a lot of potential there #smarthomechat

Part 1 Q5 @ToddStabelfeldt "Further integration of the virtual assistant into the #smarthome providing greater independence for aging and those of us with disabilities. The aging Boomers are really the market that will drive a lot of this innovation forward…#smarthomechat
— Darwin Sayo (@liquidmachine) November 28, 2017
Part 2 Q5. . .they are a huge part of the population that will greatly benefit from this." #smarthomechat #accessibility

A5 -I fully agree. My mother in law is in her late 60's and #smarttech is helping her, especially with some of the language barrier (she is Chinese) being in the UK. #smarthomechat #accessibility
